Description
A long Mien woman's jacket made of black synthetic fabric with a red ruffled cotton collar. It features appliqué stripes on its sleeve hem in white, red, and black, followed by a braided sleeve hem that is covered in rings of silver metalwork. The front and back flaps are hemmed with blue cotton lining. Two ornamental burgundy tassels have been attached with black and white glass beads to the opening of each side panel. Beneath the ruffled red collar there is a thick strip of cross-stitch embroidery designs in a teal, green, blue, and indigo blue-red. A second layer of embroidery has been attached on top this first layer positioned behind the neck for added support. This second layer of cross-stitch embroidery is done in burgundy, red, green, teal, yellow, blue, and orange in cotton. Original title from SEACRC: Mien Woman's Coat
