Description
This circa 1980 postcard shows the Crocker Art Gallery's main entrance at O Street, between Second and Third streets. Built in 1872/83 under the guidance of N.D. Goodell, the Italian suburban-style structure was constructed to measure some 60 feet in width and 120 feet in length. However, building's basement was to have no relation to art, rather containing a 10-pin bowling alley, billiards room, and skating rink.
