Description
V2p153d In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. II, page 153 center right. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written under photo: "What remained of the Palace Hotel." View looking south across Market Street shows the side of the building facing New Montgomery after the 1906 disaster. The corners of the hotel at Market and at Jessie remain; the wall in between has been torn down. Men can be seen standing atop the remains of that wall as well as watching the scene from the street. Signs for "Fehr's Famous F.F.X.L. Beer," a masquerade ball, and sidewalk lights are posted at the near corner.
