Description
Photograph of men and women using punching bags on Venice beach, ca.1940. To the left of center, a young woman with a short curly hairdo dressed in a halter top and shorts punches a bag attached to a pole. In the center, a man appears to float as he stands on a thin wire contraption while punching to bags hanging from a flat wooden roof supported by four planks. Eight women in bathing suits watch the man attentively while standing or sitting in the sand. The ocean shore is visible in the background.
