Description
Photograph of the Rancho of Bernard Etchezerrey in San Diego, 1934. The pagoda-like adobe, which was built in 1850, stands at center behind the dangling branches of a tree at left. It appears to have adobe walls, and the central building of the structure is relatively small in comparison to the wide overhang of the shingled roof, which creates a large wrap-around porch. Much of the plaster on the adobe walls is peeling, leaving blotches. In the foreground, small weeds are distributed over a swath of short grass. Picture file card lists this also as "The Rancho Valle de Parmo, Santa Maria".
