Photograph caption dated July 4, 1964 reads, "Dead pigeon - Singer Dean Martin departs from Dodger Stadium field in comfort on stretcher carried by Soupy Sales (left) and Rafer Johnson after being picked off first base by Valley Times sports writer Pete Kokon. Setting was the annual Hollywood stars vs. sportswriters game. No new talent was discovered, but the stars won 3-2 in a preliminary to the Dodger-Met contest."
