Description
Photograph caption dated April 15, 1964 reads, "Not quite - Dodger shortstop Maury Wills slides into second base and is thrown out by St. Louis Cardinal shortstop Dick Groat. Groat, stepping on the bag after fielding Jim Gilliam's infield grounder, guns the ball to Card first baseman Billy White to nip Gilliam and complete the double play. Wills stole two bases as Dodgers won National League opener, 4-0."
