Description
IBM card manufacturing plant at Sixteenth and St. Johns Streets, San Jose, ca. 1943. In 1943, International Business Machines Corporation opened the company's first West Coast manufacturing facility, a computer card manufacturing plant, located in the former Temple Laundry, at Sixteenth and St. Johns Streets. In July 1960, punched card manufacturing was moved from San Jose to a new facility in on Winchester Avenue, in nearby Campbell, California. See also 1997-211-535
