Description
Photograph of men fishing on a boat while watching a yellowtail being gaffed, near San Diego, ca.1930. In the right, a row of men, each holding a fishing rod, is visible by the edge of a boat. To the right of the center, an old man who appears to be struggling with a bending fishing rod can be seen looking down the water. The man in front of him, seems to be aiding with the catch while holding a long pole down into the water. A second man is noticeable holding a similar pole up in the air, who seems to be also helping to gaff the fish. Below the center, a large fish is observable which appears to be flipping in the air. The other men seem to be all observing the landing of the fish. Water is viewable covering the area in the left side and the background.
