Description
The California State Capitol Building is seen from the shade of the loggia of the Hotel Senator in this circa 1930 postcard. Vintage automobiles, palm trees and the Capitol are the main elements on view, but an inset showing a street look of the hotel sets this card apart from similar scenes. Famed editor Arthur Brisbane, a power in New York newspapers for over 40 years and one of William Randolph Hearst's most valued employees once said, "The Hotel Senator...has everything that any hotel in New York, London or Paris has - and more."
