Description
Dion Boucicault writes to Herman Charles Merivale. Boucicault asks Merivale to send over his play, "The Butler." Boucicault is trying to find offers for the play. He mentions that Rose Coghlan "does not toe the line," and also mysteriously notes that "We are after him with a sharp stick," perhaps referring to his clerk Townsend who was attempting to gather commission on the dealings with Coghlan. Finally, Boucicault tells Merivale that his new Irish-American drama, 'The Adventures by Hood & Field of "Fin McCool" of Skibberean' will premiere soon.
