Burbank is only city in Valley free of half-day sessions since end of World War II. Approximately 17,000 students are expected by city schools in September, against 16,735 last year. City system has $1,747,000 rehabilitation program under way in school buildings. Program includes complete replacement of Joaquin Miller Elementary School with $388,932 plant."
