Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated December 24, 1955 reads, "No time wasted - Highway patrol car flashing past is piloted by patrolman Ben Ruff of San Fernando as he pursues speeder near Newhall area. Ruff is one of 28 traffic officers stationed in Newhall and Lancaster sub-station. Speed is main offense and causes 70 per cent [sic] of the accidents, according to Ruff.
