Title supplied by cataloger. The original Hall of Records, a 12-story structure at 220 N. Broadway constructed between 1909 and 1911, was demolished in September, 1973. This replacement building was designed by Richard Neutra and opened in 1962. Photograph caption dated March 22, 1957 reads, "Mrs. Judy Levstik of the county manager's office displays architect's drawing of the proposed $10,000,000 Hall of Records to be constructed at Temple St. and Broadway. Drawing is of the Temple St. view. The 8-story building will house all county records for the next 100 years, officials said. Plan will be presented to Board of Supervisors."
