"Den gamle og den nye kirken i Tulear. Den nye er bygget vesentlig paa Andresens initiativ" ("The old and the new Tulear Church. The new one is mostly built because of Andresens initiative"). The old church was inaugurated by Lars Roestvig on December 25, 1900. The new church, with two towers, was inaugurated by Alfred Andresen on Sunday June 21, 1959. -- Alfred Andresen was a missionary in Madagascar from 1920-. He married Marie, maiden name Aarstoel, in Stavanger, Norway on June 8, 1919. She was born in 1895. Larsr Jakobsen Roestvig, a missionary in Madagascar from 1874-1911. He married Anne Elisabeth, maiden name Figved, in Morondava on September 10, 1876. She was born in Stavanger, Norway on May 17, 1846 and died in Morondava, Madagascar on February 9, 1878. He then married Martha Serine, maiden name Olsen, in Tulear, Madagascar on April 14, 1881. She was born in Hetland, Norway on September 9, 1862 and died in Naerboe, Norway on January 19, 1941.
