Title supplied by cataloger. Photographer's caption reads, "Most of the time, The Monte Carlo Restaurant Cabaret doors are closed. On Fairfax Avenue, a block north of Wilshire Boulevard, is a Russian night club open only for private parties. This special evening was the 100th birthday celebration of Raia Markovitch, a prominent matriarch who arrived in Los Angeles in 1942. Caviar, a variety of Russian food, with wine and large bottles of vodka were on every table. Between entrees was a short break for music, and dancing followed by a continuation of the banquet. During these final dishes a Russian cabaret show was performed, complete with colorful costumes, a comical master of ceremonies, opera singers, folk singers, violinist, can-can, and traditional folk dancers."
