Shows wooden structure, trench, concrete mixer in background, construction workers. "The substructure of this great dam goes to bed rock and is being raised from the surface of the canyon 230 feet in the air, thus impounding both the subterranean and surplus winter surface flow of a rain shed of 147 square miles" (part of caption) -- view 2 (ca0595).
