Description: Shown is a 1908 postcard depicting the Fair Oaks Bridge. Built in 1901 this automobile-friendly structure connected Fair Oaks to settlements on the other side of the American River. Flooding in 1907 washed the bridge away. Its replacement opened in 1908.
