"Die ersten Gehilfenschüler in Rungwe u. Br. Klautzsch." ("First apprentices in Rungwe a[nd] Br[other] Klautzsch."). A group of eleven Africans, dressed in white, are sitting on stools in a semicircle in front of a thatched house. They are holding books in their hands and all of them, except for two, are looking and partly pointing at a globe standing on a chair in the center. Missionary Klautzsch is standing behind his students pointing at the globe. Imprinted on the image: "Gehilfenschüler in Rungwe. 1512." ("Apprentices in Rungwe. 1512."). The corners of the photo must have been bend because parts of the corners and edges are slightly colorless.
