This project was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. Made accessible through a grant from the John Randolph Haynes and Dora Haynes Foundation and Photo Friends.
Pictured is a float titled, "No Room at the Inn," sponsored by First Lutheran Church of Northridge, which was one of 36 entries in the Bethlehem Star Parade, Van Nuys. The theme for the 15th annual parade is "The Life and Ministry of Christ," and will have an all-religious procession of 36 floats entered by churches of the Christian faith from all parts of the Valley. It will delineate the life of Christ from the prophecy to the Resurrection. Photograph was dated November 25, 1963, but this float actually appeared in the December 1962 parade.
