Photograph article dated January 14, 1983 reads, "Five years ago today, Hawkeye Pierce and Hot Lips Houlihan buried the hatchet and brought to a close the last regularly filmed episode of M*A*S*H 4077th. The immensely popular satire ran 11 years - almost three times longer than the Korean conflict that provided its setting. Over the course of 251 episodes, the series garnered 99 Emmy award nominations and played to an estimated 224 million people. Among its stars were Alan Alda as Benjamin Pierce, the field surgeon who drowned himself in women, booze and irony; Loretta Swit as Maj. Margaret Houlihan, the head nurse whose daytime rigidity gave way to nighttime licentiousness; and Jamie Farr, as Cpl. Max Klinger, the Toledo Mudhen fan who spent much of the series in lacey undergarments bucking for a Section 8." Photograph caption reads, "Old comrades Loretta Swift and Alan Alda say goodbye at news conference in 20th Century-Fox commissary."
