Description
Photograph of Pine Avenue looking north from Ocean Avenue in Long Beach, California, ca.1905. A brick, three-story building with Romanesque architecture stands on the corner at left. A sign which reads "Dentist" extends from one of its molded second-story windows. A large department-store window is partially visible on the ground floor at left decorated with cloth to the right of which a group of men stand near a bicycle under a cloth overhang. Further down the row of storefronts on the street, a sign reads "Harness Shop". Commercial buildings also line the left side of the unpaved road, sporting both brick and clapboard veneers. Horse-drawn carriages situate themselves to either side.
