Description
The Valley to Vietnam series, produced by the Sacramento Public Library, traces of the arc of experience of Vietnam era veterans living in the Sacramento area. William "Andy" Anderson grew up in the splendor of Van Nuys, California - sun and baseball were the norm. His baseball prowess earned him a minor league contract with his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. With the advent of the Vietnam War, however, he was drafted, finding his way into the legendary 1st Cavalry Division during 1965/66 and a life changing friendship with fellow Vietnam Veteran and California political legend B.T. Collins.
