Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph article dated January 26, 1963 partially reads, "We want to get ahead and be like everyone else," said the Rev. George Toda, "but because we are a minority group we have found it isn't always easy." Mr. Toda, Japanese-American-born pastor of the San Fernando Holiness Church which serves the Nisei population in the Valley, expressed the feelings of his small Pacoima congregation. "We're Christian, and as such, our primary concern is to serve the church and Christ's kingdom," he said."
