Description
Bust-length portrait.
1990-1673.
Born in Ohio in 1819. Studied medicine and dentistry. Came to California in 1849 via the Isthmus, sailing from Panama to San Francisco in the ship Alexander von Humboldt. Settled in Sacramento, working for J.S. Ormsby and William Ormsby coining gold in their mint. Worked the mines before returning to Sacramento to practice medicine and dentistry. Owned gold mine in state of Sonora, Mexico. Died in 1895.
