Description
Photograph of the Sackett Hotel, Store and Post Office on Caheunga Drive and Hollywood Boulevard, ca.1905. An odd, Victorian storefront sports a single-level strip with an overhand supported by colonnade, along which the shops are situated. On a second-story above them, what appears to be the top of a Victorian house is situated with a balcony and clapboard veneer, only half the width of the lower structure. Windows on the strip read "The Provident Life and Trust Co. of Philadelphia", "Hollywood", "Post Office", "Shoes Hats & [...] Furnishings", "Entrance to Ice Cream Parlor", and "Confectionary". Two trees each back their own hitching post, which are situated in front of the sidewalk. A telephone pole is evident in the background.
