Description
Four women on a hillside overlook the pine-covered Ama-no-hashidate sand bar stretching into Miyazu Bay, considered one of Japan's three most scenic views. The woman standing on the left wears a black haori over a blue kimono and holds a closed parasol in her right hand; the woman beside her holds a green parasol over her head and wears a brightly patterned pink kimono. A sitting woman wears a green kimono with red and pink under kimono showing at the front and sleeves and a matching obi. She has a scarf draped over her head and carries a basket on her back while holding a rake across her knees. The last woman stands below the others and wears a patterned purple haori over multiple layers of kimono, while two children play on the shore below her.
