Description
Street scene in the Hacienda settlement in New Almaden. Hacienda was located at the base of the hills. At the far end of the photo is a gate that leads to the Reduction Works. Hacienda was the headquarters for the mining company and most white-collar workers lived in this area. The settlement took its name from the Reduction Works, called in Spanish "Hacienda de Beneficio."
