Description
Photograph of the statue of the founding family, Leland Stanford, Jane Stanford, and Leland Stanford Jr. at Stanford University, ca.1900. The statue stands on the top of a wide, darkly-colored pedestal that appears to be made of marble. Leland Stanford stands in a suit and long jacket on the right with his sun at center holding a scroll and Jane Stanford kneeling in a flowing dress on the right. Symbols are carved into the pedestal below and a second statue stands on a stone pedestal in the grassy yard on the left. Paved walkways cut through the grass all around and an arcade extends across the background.
