Photographic portrait of Judge Robert Maclay Widney, Long Beach, [s.d.]. The bust of Judge Widney can be seen facing right. He is visible wearing a dark suit and tie. Widney's hair, which he has combed back, is thinning, and he sports a medium-length beard and no moustache. He is pictured in three-quarters profile. "R.M. Widney" is written in cursive at the bottom of the photo. Widney was one of two brothers important to the establishment of the University of Southern California. He was a real-estate salesman before he became a judge, and later championed the introduction of streetcars, electric lights, and other civic improvements.
