Photograph caption dated December 2, 1954 reads, "Lillian Gish, one of the movie world's immortals, waves hello to Los Angeles after completing her first airplane trip--from New York, via American Airlines. She rushed here to begin work in MGM's 'The Cobweb.' Miss Gish was one of the six stars under contract at MGM when that studio was formed in 1924!"
