Photograph caption dated March 13, 1954 reads, "North Valley Civil Defense leaders learning how to construct auxiliary first aid equipment from Mrs. John Lotito, Sun Valley First Aid supervisor, are Mmes. Walter Hemple, Carlyle Farmer, Arthur Rainville and Tommy McLaren. Later they will teach persons in San Fernando, La Tuna Canyon, Glenwood School, and Fernangeles School areas to make bandages, splints, emergency blankets, and kits."
