Description
Cynthia Ozick discusses her book, “Heir to the Glimmering World.” She explains that the story is set in the Bronx during the 1930s, where it follows a family of German refuges, the Mitwisser family, who are provided for by their benefactor James A’bair. Ozick goes on to explain that the Mitwissers take in a teenage orphan named Rose, who becomes a nanny to the children and a research assistant to Professor Mitwisser.
