Description
Photographic portrait of Lemuel Goldwater, [s.d.]. Mr. Goldwater is pictured from his upper torso to his head and is looking straight ahead, although his body is turned to the left. He is wearing a gray jacket, white shirt and patterned tie. He is balding, and his remaining hair is dark. He has a large nose and his eyes are sunk into their sockets and surrounded by wrinkles. He and Ben Cohn were partners in Cohn Goldwater Company, makers of "Boss" overalls. He built the first modern clothing manufacturing company at 12th Street and Santee Street. This building was designated Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument No. 119 in 1973.
