Description
Photograph of San Francisco earthquake damage, showing two women in front of building ruins, looking northwest from the corner of Ellis and Powell Streets, 1906. Two women in fine dresses stand on a bare piece of flooring with exposed beams to either side of them. The fallen bricks which once made up the walls of the surrounding building now lie at their feet. The standing portions of ruined buildings can be seen across the background. Gift: Carey Stanton, 1978.
