Postcard featuring Mt. Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railway gravity car crossing a trestle on Mt. Tamalpais. Gravity cars coasted from the summit of Mt. Tamalpais down to Muir Woods or to downtown Mill Valley. Title transcribed from front of postcard, which is printed with the following text: "Coming down Mt. Tamalpais, California via Gravity Car on eight mile ride". Back of postcard printed with the following: "M. Rieder, Publ. Los Angeles, Cal. Made in Germany. No. 3850". Pre-1916
