Title supplied by cataloger. Started in 1902, The Pike ran until 1979. When the Pacific Electric line to Long Beach was built, the Long Beach Bath House and Amusement Company built this bath house on the beach near the end of the street car line. Beach umbrellas and deck chairs cover the beach in front of the Long Beach bath house in this panoramic view of The Pike. A packed crowd underneath the pergola, left, watches the beach scene. In the background, the pier in front of the Municipal Auditorium extends into the ocean. American flags fly over the bath house. St. Louis Cafe Garden, to the right of the bath house, advertizes root beer among its offerings. A beach umbrella, bottom right, advertises "Harness, Collars, Saddles". Photograph dated: 1915.
