Description
Photograph of French Airship "La Ville de Paris" on a postcard, ca.1907. A crowd gathers below the airship, composed of men in suits and women both in peasant wear and Sunday best. The dirigible hovers above the crowd, a large ship with several pointed balloon extensions on its rear end. In the foreground, a man in a suit and hat sits on the hillside surrounded by several women in simple clothing and bonnets. Behind him stand more women in fancier garb. In the background, several houses can be made out among the trees. Letter on the back of postcard from Coie Brown Shipley to Miss E. B. Croswell reads as follows: "Your letter received ok. Letters for breakfast taste good. One from Sadie We. Morning. We are well and hearty. Better direct!".
