Description
Photograph of the residence of Mrs. Childs, South Pasadena, California, 1880-1920. Short brick pillars with light fixtures straddle the driveway entrance. A low hedge of fine roses tops the short retaining wall fronting the property. The mansion itself is three stories tall with steeply pitched roof somewhat remniscent of the Tudor style. The residence of Mrs. James J. Garfield is visible at left in the background. There is also a fine rose garden at the rear of the house (not visible). "M. Rieder, Los Angeles" -- handwritten on verso of photoprint.
