Aerial view of the (New) Calvary Catholic Cemetery, located 4201 East Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles. This is the third location for Calvary, created here in 1896, hence the common use of the adjective "new" when referring to it. The first location for Calvary was near La Placita on Main Street and the second was on North Broadway where Cathedral High School now stands. Calvary is comprised of 136 acres and includes many prominent features, such as the Stations of the Cross, placed at intervals along the main drive, and All Souls Chapel (center). The chapel was constructed in 1902 as a tribute to the Gothic Chapel in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire England. Just south of Calvary Cemetery is the Home of Peace Jewish Cemetery, located at 4334 Whittier Boulevard.
