Description
Two women in Parisian dresses from 1831. The woman on the right wears a red velvet dress with gold ribbon and lace detailing. Underneath she wears a white under dress. The dress has short full cap sleeves, and the voluminous full length sleeves of the white underdress can be seen. She wears a gold band around each cuff and a gold ribbon around her waist. The bodice is edged with gold ribbon and white lace. The neck and cuffs of her sleeves are also edged in this fashion. She wears a gold diamond-shaped brooch with three gold beads. She wears white gloves, white slippers, gold earrings, and holds a red fan. A gold band encircles her dress a little over halfway down the skirt. She wears a white turban made of gold embroidered muslin, with gold beads around the bottom edge and a large feather on top. The woman on the left wears the same dress, but in blue. Her turban has pick dots. She shows the back view of the dress. The women's hair is styled into tightly braided buns at the side of the head with short ringlets.
