Description
Bernhard spends the first half of the interview describing his novel about a 15 year old German boy having a sexual affair with a woman 20 years older who disappears, and while observing a trial as a law student years later, the young man is shocked to discover the same woman as the defendant in a horrible crime. During the second half of the interview, Bernhard talks about how Germany’s wrestle with its Nazi past provided the background for his novel.
