Description
Alain Elkann discusses his novel, “Piazza Carignano.” He begins by explaining that his book is about a young Italian man who finds out that his uncle was a Fascist and a Jew. He describes why many Italian Jews went to Concentration Camps. Elkann describes his own life of being born in the United States and moving to Italy as a young boy. He talks about how Benito Mussolini came to power in Italy, and why many Jews did not see him as a threat. He ends the interview by discussing that he lectures around the country about Italian literature.
