KPFA broadcast of a documentary produced by Dale Minor from material recorded March 8-16, 1965. The documentary on this march in Selma, Alabama, led by Martin Luther King, Jr. includes recordings of the march itself as well as speeches and interviews with King. ‚The Deacons for Defense and Justice‚ Ernest Thomas, Southern Regional president of the Deacons, interviewed by Ray Bridge (August 1965). Program on Michael James of Students for a Democratic Society who was, at the time, n the Midwest organizing young working people. His speech was originally given before 10,000 people in Chicago during a Free Chicago rally protesting police brutality and later recorded by KPFA when James was in Berkeley. KPFA noon report on S.F.
