Photograph caption dated May 25, 1959 reads, "Mrs. John J. O'Donnell, center, Civil Defense chairman, California Society, Daughters of American Revolution, accepts plaque of appreciation from Mrs. Earl R. Holland, member of Los Angeles Civil Defense and Disaster board of directors, presented in acknowledgement of DAR's contribution to Civil Defense in past year. Joseph J. Micciche, acting director of Los Angeles Office of Civil Defense, looks on. Mrs. O'Donnell accepted plaque on behalf of DAR State regent, Mrs. J. J. Champieux."
