A large house with garden, new tree and faucet coming out of the lawn. Other houses can be seen in what appears to be a residential neighborhood. This view shows decorative stained glass windows on either side of the chimney. Title devised by cataloger; date range approximated by cataloger based on the year that film negatives came into use and the latest known dates indicated for other Hazard images in the Huntington's collection. Research shows that this house appears to be 1901 S. 4th Avenue, Los Angeles. Charles P. Coslett is listed in L.A. City Directories at this address from 1906 - 1918. See interior view of this house: photCL_555_06_410. The house in the background, at left, is the J. M. Neeland residence at 2707 Washington Ave., later re-numbered 3507 Washington, on the NW corner of 5th Avenue. That house was the subject of an article in the Los Angeles Times July 1, 1906.
