Description
Photograph of students in front of the school building on Main Street in old Palmdale, [s.d.]. A group of three young girls wearing dresses and hats is standing in the foreground at left. Eight boys dressed all in black are standing together at right, and a man is standing on the steps of the schoolhouse, which is in the background at center. The school is a light-colored clapboard building with a tall spire on top and large rectangular windows around the outside. In the distance at right is a cluster of large farm buildings, including a windmill. The old school was built in the 1880s in old Palmdale, about two miles east of present Palmdale. The building was restored and later moved to the Gold Camp at Tropico Mine in Rosamond.
