Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph dated July 7, 1962 shows 51-year-old construction worker, Reyes Bustamente who was rescued from a Sylmar cave-in at the intersection of Polk St. and Foothill Blvd. The article partially reads, "He was buried for 11 or 12 minutes before fellow workmen could clear some dirt and uncover his head. It took another 45 minutes for firemen, led by Battalion Chief James A. Brewer, to remove Bustamente from the dirt trap."
