Description
Excavation is underway for the new Central Library Building to be built on the original half-block footprint of the Carnegie Library Building. Serous consideration was given to acquiring a full block for the new library, but the cost of at least half a million dollars for the other half- block proved to be too expensive. August 14, 1952.
