1989-1271 In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 33. Front view of a 2 story building; other buildings adjoin on each side; on 1st floor are located 3 business, identified above each: "wallpaper" on the left, next "Lindy's Trading Post" which takes up one half of first floor and "Bar and Restaurant Fixtures" on the right end; on 2nd floor are 8 tall windows decorated above by a lintel with a rounded bracket in the center; above 2nd floor is a lintel supported by corbels with a triangular pediment above in the center; quoins decorate each side on the 2nd floor. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "Last place of Krebs & Co., Paints. Business first est. in 1854, around the corner, by Fredericks & Krebs until 1863, after that Krebs & Company.The above buiilding erected in 1876.Business 'folded up' about 1936."
